EDIT: So I've been doing some thinking over the last day or so and it is regarding my video addressing/discussing my thoughts on the Dynamax Suspect Test for Smogon OU. For those that do not know, I have associated myself with Smogon for around 5 years and throughout the years, I have made some good friends, had awesome battles and had a lot of memories. Now even though I have disagreed with Smogon from time to time (mostly revolving around suspect tests and/or bans), I have always tried to see it both ways.

So onto the current topic, Smogon Suspect Testing Dynamax. I put out a video discussing my thoughts and opinions about the suspect testing of Dynamaxing and I disagreed and I felt I backed up my statements with logic. Now the topic I knew going into this could be deemed a hot topic aka somewhat controversial given how we are around 3 weeks or so into a new generation of Pokemon and already a huge suspect test has been announced and it involves a new game mechanic. I knew there would be some people that might disagree with me and that is more than okay. I am all for having civil disagreements and discussions about said topics because its a good way to learn something new. That is a part of life.

However, I noticed that video was garnering a fair amount of consecutive dislikes and it had me thinking of a few things.
1. People disliked for the topic of the video.
2. People disagreed with me.
3. My delivery was either poor or how I said things might have come off wrong.
4. My thumbnail.

There are a few possible reasons why it is the way it is and I wanted to talk to you all about it because if there was anything I said or done in the video that was objectively bad or cringy, you need to tell me so I can learn from it. Part of being a good YouTuber is to be accountable for what you say and how you say as well as pay attention to what your community says. You also have to take into account your ratings ratio as well. If you are a YouTuber and the dislikes are more apparent than the likes or if you get a sizable amount of dislikes, it is most likely due to something on your end.

If I was to nitpick and criticize myself for said video, I would say these are possibly some reasons why there may be dislikes.
1. It could very well be my thumbnail. It could have come off as really bad or insulting to some. The main reason for the thumbnail was because it encapsulated my initial reaction to the suspect test as at that time, we weren't even 3 weeks in and we already are having a huge and impactful suspect test. Just wanted to explain myself there if that is the reason for the hate, sorry.
2. It could be because it came off as "going against the grain" or "starting a fire" by disagreeing with a vast majority. That wasn't my intent. As a competitive battler who has a rudimentary understanding of how mechanics work, I felt I was completely justified to speak on this topic as long as felt like I backed up my statements with logic.
3. My tone. Okay, for those who have known me for years, you know I can be very hyped up and passionate about things from time to time and given how passionate I am as a Pokemon fan, I can sometimes get a bit intense. That is a character flaw of mine. I am not perfect and I am sorry for those that it may have put off. Given how fresh and exciting Gen 8 is and Dynamax specifically, I really really disliked how this mechanic could be the first to go to the banlist.
4. My sense of humor in that video. Okay, so I didn't intend for the video to be 100% mundane and strict, I added a touch of on-the-spot humor to try and break up the monotony so things would not be bland and boring on my end. The humor was meant to be a joke and nothing more. I am sorry if it was misplaced and came off wrong, that was never my intention.

Anyways, I addressed this in a follow up video to not only clear the air but also show those who misunderstood me that I am not a bad person. I very much love and appreciate the Smogon Community for the impact it has on me as I got my roots as a competitive battler by playing their formats.
