A new update has added more SNES games to Nintendo Switch Online's library of games, two SNES games, and one NES game, the two SNES games are Donkey Kong Country and Natsume Championship Wrestling, and the NES game is The Immortal.
For this video, I will be playing Donkey Kong Country, this game released in 1994, and was developed by a company called Rare, and this was back when Nintendo owned Rare and developed games like the Donkey Kong Country series and a bunch of Nintendo 64 games, like Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and a few other games before Rare was brought by Microsoft for the Xbox, and both Conker and Banjo made appearances in Diddy Kong Racing.
This game was the debut of Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong's little buddy, and the two set off on an adventure to rescue their banana horde, which had been stolen by King K. Rool, the leader of the Kremlings. This game is a platforming game where you control either of the two Kongs, and you can switch between them, and they have different attributes, with Donkey Kong being the more powerful heavyweight, and Diddy Kong being faster. This game does have a lot of secrets if you want to try and go for 101%, and Cranky Kong does give some tips during parts of the adventure.
In some levels, the Kongs can gain assistance from different animal buddies, like Rambi the Rhino and Enguarde the Swordfish. This game has about 40 levels around DK Island, and it does have different mechanics, like minekart, barrel cannons, and swinging from vines.
I have read about this game taking place after the events of the classic Donkey Kong game for the SNES, and that Cranky Kong was the original Donkey Kong from that game. The Donkey Kong Country series had three games for the SNES which were developed by Rare, and Donkey Kong 64 for the N64. This series was revived by Retro Studios in 2010 with Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U in 2014.
