SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR | Assassin's Creed Unity | PART 8
9Arno takes Elise to Louvre to meet Marquis de Sade. He tells them Louis-Michel le Peletier, the man overseeing the execution of King Louis, can be found at a cafe near le Palais Royale. Arno sneaks into the Palais Royale and assassinates Le Peletier. His memories reveal that it was his vote that pushed King Louis to the execution and Germain would be present to witness this.
Following day, both Elise and Arno reach at the Place de la Revolution to finally assassinate Grandmaster Germain. Louis XVI is executed publicly and in presence of Germain. Before leaving, Germain orders his men to kill Arno. Totally surrounded, Elise arrives to save him, but he refuses to go after Germain, as he does not want to leave Elise alone to fight Germain's men. Germain escapes and Elise feels frustrated Arno didn't kill Germain to avenge her father and instead chose to save her. Elise leaves him.
When he returns to the Assassin Council, following the attempt of assassination of Germain, the Council sees Arno is driven by his personal vendetta than serving the Brotherhood. He is expelled from the Brotherhood of Paris for repeatedly defying the orders of the Council.
This breaks him from inside. He goes back to Versailles and becomes a drunkard. Elise returns to Arno and reminds him for what he stands for. He gathers himself up and resumes his mission.
In Versailles, Arno assassinates La Touche, who was holding an execution in public. His memories reveal besides Le Peletier, another govt. man is working with Germain- Maximilien de Robespierre.
