So I unearthed a Drakerys starter...
Remember Drakerys? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Originally kickstarted in 2014, I was interested as I watched the campaign progress, thinking it was an interesting concept, and being impressed with all the fancy artwork and painted samples.
In those heady days of Kickstarter, games would pull in all sorts of cash with all sorts of promises... with expectations often not matching up to reality.
Fast forward a few years, and I finally stumbled upon one of these starter sets. Having been quite curious about the game, I decided to take a peak (as the price was right) and see what I missed out on.
Hmm. I'm not sure if I would have been satisfied with what my money went to support if I had backed it. The figures aren't bad technically, and for the time they do have a decent level of detail. I guess the 3 in 1 concept was a bit novel, but also leads to a ton of wasted plastic and awkward posing.
Plus the minoaturs look more like goats. That's borderline sacreligious!
Have a look back at the campaign if you're curious!
