Solgaleo-GX and Lunala-GX Coming to Pokémon TCG!
5Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video thingy!
- Once again, I've got a Pokémon TCG booster pack to open up! This week will be BREAKthrough, with the code card (as always) going out to one lucky viewer. I'll open up the booster near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day for you to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive the code card (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, November 27.
- Two special Pokémon TCG collection boxes are currently available: the Alola Collections! These collections are giving us an oversized sneak peek at the upcoming Sun and Moon expansions of Pokémon TCG in the form of promo Pokémon-GX: Solgaleo-GX and Lunala-GX. Each collection includes an oversized copy of the Pokémon-GX in question, a sculpted figure and collector's pin of the Legendary Pokémon, 5 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Online. Also, rumor has it that I MIGHT be picking up one of these collections to serve as the mail-out giveaway for when we hit 1,000 subscribers on the channel... ;)
- For the 6th year in a row, Pikachu will be joining the floats of the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City! Decked out in a warm scarf and carrying a Pikachu snowman, our beloved Pokémon mascot will help usher in the 2016 holiday season. The parade will be broadcast on NBC on Thursday, November 24; check your local listings for your chance to see a massive flying Pikachu conquering New York City!
- Pokémon GO is offering bonus in-game rewards for loyal players! For one week, starting on Wednesday, November 23, you'll earn double the XP and double the Stardust for completing in-game events, such as activating PokéStops, capturing Pokémon, hatching eggs, and more! Not a bad little bonus to start off the 2016 holiday season!
- For those of us with Pokémon Sun and/or Pokémon Moon, be sure to check your Mystery Gift option from the main menu to obtain your very own special Munchlax. This Munchlax knows two moves it can't normally learn: Hold Back, which (like False Swipe) is a restrained move that will never drop the target below 1 HP; and Happy Hour, a non-damaging move that doubles the prize money when winning an in-game Trainer battle. Plus, this Munchlax will have access to the rare Snorlium-Z, a Z-Crystal that allows Snorlax to use its species-specific Z-Move, Pulverizing Pancake. Don't miss out!
- The Pokémon Global Link is back online! You can now register and connect your Gen 7 games to the PGL to access such things as Rating Battles, getting yourself practiced and geared up for the 2017 Pokémon Championship Series.
- Two new 3DS themes are now available for purchase (at $1.99 each) from the Theme Shop. One is the Solgaleo/Lunala theme, highlighting the two legendary Pokémon, and the other is the Pokémon-Tropical theme, showcasing a lot of the colorful new Pokémon from the Alola region. A nice little treat to spice up your 3DS screens in honor of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon!
- The Pokémon TCG: Gengar-EX Box is now available, featuring a reprinted promo copy of Phantom Forces' Gengar-EX, an oversize copy of Gengar-EX, 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a code card for use in Pokémon TCG Online to redeem this ghostly Pokémon. Also available is the Pokémon TCG: Collector's Chest, a sturdy metal carrying case containing 5 Pokémon TCG booster packs, 3 foil promo cards of Volcanion, Magearna, and shiny Mega Gengar-EX, a cool Pokémon coin, 2 colorful sticker sheets, a mini album for safely and securely storing your cards, a Pokémon notepad with 4 pencils, and a Pokémon TCG Online code card.
