Using music in videos is a very tricky thing because it could easily give you a copyright claim, at worst a copyright strike, from the owner of the music specially if you don't have permission to use it. That's why most of the music I use on my videos are either public domain or licensed under Creative Commons like those found in Incompetech.com by Kevin MacLeod.
Speaking of music by Kevin Macleod, today I got a copyright claim on a private video in YouTube from someone named Songtradr and the music that was claimed was Galway by Kevin Macleod.
As far as the website Incompetech.com goes, the music Galway by Kevin Macleod is licensed under Creative Commons 4.0 which basically states it's free to use by anyone even commercially but must give appropriate credit to the creator, etc.
Now, I don't know who Songtradr is but, what I do know is, it's not Incompetech.com nor is it Kevin Macleod. So why did Songtradr claim the music Galway even though they obviously don't own it?
