About the song:
I honestly wasn't sure how I could improve on my original remix beyond just the noise channel, but the volume macros really make a difference. I thought I could try keeping the bass the Genesis version has, but there was no way around it, keeping it in meant taking something else out and it made the song more boring. As per usual, balancing the volume was the hardest part, the noise channel hits really hard and made identifying volume problems more difficult, I only realized that was the case by muting it, before doing that I couldn't tell if the melody was too loud or the bass too quiet or the accompaniments too noisy, I just knew something loud was irritating my ears, and yeah, it was the noise channel. Then I adjusted the volume macros a little and it's done.
