Welcome to my playtrough of Sonic Battle.

This game is setting up for the story of Sonic Advance 3 which is why I'm playing it before finishing of the Advance games.

In this part we start the game by starting the story mode by picking Sonic the Hedgehog as our playable character.

The story starts as we join Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik who has made a new discovery and is using it to create a new army of robots, but this new robot he is using doesn't listen to him and is just standing around taking the blows Eggman throws at him.

Getting fed up with a bot who doesn't listen Eggman throws the robot out of the window and onto the beach of Emerald Town, in this town we join the blue hero of Station Square and the United Federation: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Who runs around on the beach being bored that nothing exciting is happening but right as he says this he sees that one of Eggman's robots has washed up on the beach and instead of destroying it because it hasn't done anything wrong, after Sonic asks it if it can walk, the robot doesn't respond meaning it probably cannot talk at this the robot notices that Sonic is there
and the robot begins to speak in broken words something about needing to show power, or something like that, so Sonic shows it his power by punching it.

After Sonic does this the robots eyes light up and now follows Sonic where ever he goes not unlike a certain fox boy used to do back on West-Side Island, so seeing this Sonic takes the robot to the house of his best friend: Miles "Tails" Prower.

After Sonic and the robot get to Tails' house they are greeted there by a black Hedgehog not all to dissimilar to Sonic himself: this is Shadow the Hedgehog the so called Ultimate Life Form, he seems to be after this robot to destroy it before it gets to powerful, but because Sonic isn't getting out of Shadow's way they start fighting over the robot Sonic takes quick care of Shadow and after this Shadow disappears and Sonic goes inside Tails' House who is surprised by the extra guest they have around now but this doesn't last long as Sonic asks Tails if he is able to fix the robot while he goes back to the beach because someone else was lurking around there and Sonic wanted to know why she is there.

After Sonic gets back to the beach he meets the bat girl lurking around Rouge the Bat, she is also after the robot for the president, but Sonic doesn't want to part with the robot as long as they aren't sure what it is.
When Rouge has had enough she flees and Sonic then runs over to Tails' Lab where Sonic runs into a grey version of the robot Tails is trying to repair.

Sonic thrashes the robot and then dashes into the lab to see if Tails is all right, but he is he didn't even notice the faker outside his front door as Tails was too busy watching the news and researching the robot.

The biggest discovery Tails was able to make is that this robot is able to copy and use every move it sees used in battle, and they test this by making Sonic fight it by only using one move, after which they start getting serious and Tails joins into the fight.

So far for the story up till now, so now for the basic gameplay.

In this game Sonic and friends engage in combat against each other (1-3 at a time) and they can use a a basic attack combo by pressing the B button multiple times this is the best way to inflict damage when you don't have good special attacks for the situation you are in.

Speaking of Special Attacks at the beginning of each fight and every time you re-spawn you can choose which special moves you want to use with the R button, the three types are:

Shots which throws projectiles in the the direction you are facing or holding the D-Pad if you want to throw up or down.

Power moves which give you a powerful attack mostly in place.

And lastly we have traps which act as explosives which are most of the time placed on the ground and have to be activated by running into the trap.

You can set one of these as a grounded special move, one as an aerial special, and the one you didn't choose is the type of special moves you auto defend against and thus can't be damaged by.

Lastly the L button acts as your guard and recovery button pressing the button makes the character guard and if this is performed at the right time you take no damage from an incoming attack, if the button is held however your character begins to heal of damage and increase their Ichikoro gauge, which when full will allow them to perform a inst-kill special move (unless the opponents chose that type to guard against), the speed at which this happens depends on the character (or in the robot's case the skill he has equipped).
