Of the main Classic Sonic games, Sonic CD is the odd one out. Sonic CD was a Sega CD/Mega CD game (depending on what country you come from), meaning a lot more data could be fit in compared to a cartridge. This meant four different time periods for each level, and most importantly, not one but TWO CD quality soundtracks (again depending on your country). Sonic CD actually started life as a CD port of Sonic 1 made by a different studio within Sega. Thankfully it turned into something totally new, a sort of Sonic 1.5 that nowadays enjoys a cult status.
This is a PC decomp port of the Taxman 2011 remake. As long as you have either the mobile or Steam version, you can use the data files from it to play a PC version with proper mod support.
First up is the legendary opening sequence. Sonic CD benefits from some anime cutscenes done by Studio Junio in collaboration with Toei Animation. In the Japanese soundtrack, you get to listen to the silly and upbeat You Can Do Anything (aka Toot Toot Sonic Warrior). In the 2011 version, due to rights issues, the song had to be replaced by an instrumental, but I used the Sonic Mega Collection versions of the cutscenes to restore the full songs.
