It's another speedrun! This recording was done on July 20th 2012.

So I guess my recent Sonic mixing spree eventually spurred interest in tracking down a copy of Sonic Colors. And I'm easily following the praise for it - though the main story could be seen as a bit on the quick / brief side, I found it to be an enjoyable romp from start to finish. I said originally that Sonic Rush on the DS was a return to form once, but that just pales in comparison now xP

But I'm not here to really do a mini-review, aren't I? As I often do on my YT channel, I sometimes have a tendency to challenge myself. And the challenge I set myself here is to go through the Egg Shuttle - basically the entire game without cutscenes and all wisps unlocked - in the space of an hour. There have been a few people that have done it before - even noticed a very INSANE sub-50 run - but after practicing the levels over and over again in the past week or so, I came to realize that it's definitely not easy to pull off.

In addition, my Dazzle has become a pain with this new PC. Sometimes when using Pinnacle Studio, the importer just freezes, and refuses to close down when you force it to. As a result, my PC would NEVER shut down and I would have to restart it manually. So right now, I'm open for tips on any potential new capture devices as well. o_O

Also... late hours of the morning = me forgetting to turn Widescreen on. Derp is me.

-Part 1 - Tropical Resort [5n32s]-
A nice easy level to get in the swing of things. It's also where I needed to be really consistent to prepare myself for later - if I could get a sub-5m40s after the boss, I would be okay to continue.

Act 1 [0:22]: Very happy with this run. :D Probably my best attempt too.
Act 2 [1:47]: Also very happy with it. Not quite my best run though due to a mistake made latching on after the first set of white wisps and the turning around with the second to last laser, but still very smooth.
Act 3: [2:58] Could've been a little more careful with Drill, but considering the previous failed attempt prior to then had me steering Drill into a cavern, that's a risk I didn't want to ditch. :P Also, lol, second-to-last laser tentativeness.
Act 4 [4:34]: Definitely one of my best runs. If I had more boost power near the end I could've avoided the spring at the end.
Act 5 [5:02]: I'm actually more comfortable using Spikes rather than Laser. Still yields a decent time IMO.
Act 6: [6:04] Arguably my best run at this stage.
Boss: [6:39] On one failed attempt, I lost time because I used Laser too early. Hence being tentative in regards to the second hit.

All in all, this is my personal best for this entire level. So I can say I feel really happy with how it turned out, even if there are a few little slipups near the middle :P
