Sonic Colors - Egg Shuttle / Challenge Mode Speedrun - 59:53 [6/7 - Asteroid Coaster]
-Part 6: Asteroid Coaster [11m03s]-
More like a pain in the asteroids, am I right? This world has a lot of things that could potentially slow me down, some harsher than others. Thankfully, there was some good cooperation throughout, therefore making me feel more settled in the most unsettling area of the entire game.
Act 1 [0:07]: I'm aware of the huge level skip between the first and second checkpoints that even skips the entire Frenzy section, but my execution for it is worse than the Starlight Carnival boss. At least my skips via boosting are still workable.
Act 2 [2:31]: Probably the act that I'm afraid of messing up on the most. Thankfully I didn't stumble much in the beginning; was a bit tentative with the moving blocks near the checkpoint though, but still was pretty smooth. The skips in the last pushing block section worked a treat for me.
Act 3 [5:04]: Sometimes I struggle to latch onto the wall once I bounced on the enemy. This time, I was GLAD it cooperated.
Act 4 [5:29]: As long as I remembered when the switch came in, I'm okay. I just have issues keeping with the inner ring before it.
Act 5 [6:17]: A repeat of Sweet Mountain 4 with those orange barriers of doom. Frenzy went really smooth - definitely one of my best runs here, give or take the barriers that trapped me at the beginning.
Act 6 [7:02]: I'm glad the mini-boss at the end turned out so well. Usually I would get hit or die at that point, or even die somewhere before it anyway, but I feel really good with how it came out. Maybe a little slip in the Frenzy section past the second checkpoint, but all's good.
Boss [10:01]: Not only did I mess up big time with the hits early on, but my Dazzle started skipping frames during it. Hence, random switch to my camera with music due to me recording it at 3 in the morning with headphones plugged in. Still decently synched, mind.
So due to the mess up during the boss, I thought I wasn't going to make it. But after some close mathematics, I thought I could give it a go anyway. Terminal Velocity at this point required PERFECTION.
