428This is a review of Sonic Forces for the Nintendo Switch by 8-Bit Eric. After Sonic Mania, many had high hopes for this 3D Sonic, so how does it fare? Let's find out if Sonic Forces for Nintendo Switch is worth it! Sonic Forces story has Dr. Eggman is up to his usual ways, This time he has a new creation: Infinite. Sonic gets defeated and Knuckles creates a group of Sonic’s friends to save him. You are introduced to a new character in the team which is created by you. The big draw here is your ability to design and play with your own avatar and it is actually a pretty fun character creation, you can choose an animal type, each with its own specific moves and abilities, You can then kit them out with clothes, accessories and any unlocked weapon. Sonic Forces feels like a hybrid of several past Sonic games. Feels like part Sonic Adventure, Sonic Colors, Generations, and 2d sonics all in one sonic stew. We actually get two different Sonics in the game. The two handle differently with specific jumping styles. Levels are divided into three potential types: an “avatar” stage starring players’ custom characters, Modern Sonic stages that emulate later 3D games like Sonic Generations or Sonic Unleashed, and Classic Sonic games featuring the 2D perspective of the original Sega Genesis games.
