With Sonic rescued, he teams up with the Rookie when they enter Arsenal Pyramid. The next task is to help out Silver the Hedgehog at Mystic Jungle, who is under attack by the mysterious being, and the Mystic Jungle is filled with enemies.

This is the first tag team course, where we play as Sonic and the Rookie, the factory is inside Arsenal Pyramid, and this is the first time Double Boost is used, and I do like the music that plays when it is used, the song is "Fist Bump", and it is the main theme song of Sonic Forces. One thing about the Tag courses is that the Rookie can use Wispon, and Sonic can boost, and I test out the Lightning Wispon, where the Rookie uses an electric whip to defeat enemies, and with Lightning, you can travel through a line of rings. The inside of the pyramid has waves of enemies, which the Lightning Wispon can be put to good use in, and then it is time to make it to the end of the course.
Next course is Luminous Forest, and we play as Sonic for this course, and we learn from Amy about someone attacking, and Silver is fighting against that being. This is one of my least favourite courses to play on, although it does make use of the boost, and it does switch to a 2D course with rotating platforms, and then through a half-pipe, this one is my least favourite part of the course, and then have an encounter with a giant snake, which you do get instantly defeated if you don't press the buttons while inside it.
Then it is to find Silver, and we then learn the name of the mysterious being, Infinite, and in this boss fight, you have to boost to get close to Infinite and start attacking him with Homing Attacks. Infinite can make energy barriers out of cubes that appear on the path, which you can Homing Attack on to try and deal damage to him. If Sonic takes damage, Infinite will alter reality where spikes will appear in Sonic's path.
In the next phase, Infinite will create Phantom Copies of himself, you have to Homing Attack on them in order to hit Infinite, repeat the same process, in the final phase of the fight, Infinite creates even more Phantom Copies of himself than before.
With Infinite defeated, or well, driven off, as Sonic doesn't really defeat him, Infinite escapes. We did see in that cutscene where he was fighting Silver, Infinite drops a mysterious gemstone, which could be how he is able to creates those strange looking cubes that can alter reality if Sonic makes contact with him, and how he is able to create copies of himself during the boss fight.
