Sonic Labyrinth Game Sample - Game Gear

Sonic Labyrinth doesn't need much introduction. It is a widely hated game that people often criticize for being too "slow". I'm not going to praise the game, but I would like to point out a couple of things. I think the music sounds pretty decent and the graphics are pretty good. Next, the game is NOT slow. Sonic does indeed walk slow, but for everyone complaining about how slow he walks, I never hear anyone state that he can SPIN DASH his way around the levels. Lastly, this is Sonic Labyrinth...it is not Sonic the Hedgehog 3 portable or Sonic Triple Trouble 2.0 or anything of the sort.
I think the problem here is that people wanted another Sonic game and with the Game Gear getting "five" more typical Sonic games (Sonic 1, 2, TT, Chaos, and Blast). I strongly dislike Sonic Blast, but when you think about it, why the hell were so many people expecting Sonic Labyrinth to be ANOTHER traditional Sonic game?
Nitpicking aside, Sonic Labyrinth, in my opinion, is an okay game. It isn't groundbreaking, but it's far from this steaming pile of crap that a lot of people make it out to be. It's about Sonic in various mazes, not Sonic trying to speed through a level in 20 seconds. With different mechanics comes different gameplay. The game has a few power-ups such as super speed, extra time, invincibility...eh. This video goes through the first four stages. Enjoy.
