Just gotta say: Sonic Mania IS a great game, even on PC. I've played a good chunk of it, and it's well worth your time and money, assuming you don't care too much about Denovo or the online DRM.

To sum up, the PC release was laced with Denovo, a rather infamous DRM that has been reported to cause performance issues with certain games, but most notably requires an internet connection to run any game connected to it (think Xbox One back when it was first announced) even if that game is single player, like Sonic Mania is. To make matters worse, from what I've been hearing, it wasn't entirely Sega's fault either; it was their European branch that demanded the DRM, and the devs had no say in the matter. They have patched the game to make it possible to play the game "offline" (AKA you have to connect to the internet once a week to play the game without a connection), but Denovo is still pres

I do hope that this whole thing gets resolved, because it saddens me that such an amazing game has to be shafted by a single element that isn't even part of the game itself
