Just like in the Shadow release, this release added another secret level that can only be accessed through the Test Stage. This time, it's the Crisis City demo from E3 2006. It's pretty much just the first section of Silver's Crisis City but with robots and some minor changes to enemy placement. It also takes place during the day which is normal in the retail game but P-06 changed the main stage to be nighttime like in the cutscene.

Since this level is completely optional and the game doesn't keep track of your score, that means there is no reason to not use the Sigil of Awakening. As you take out enemies and collect the chaos drives, Silver will fill a red meter at the bottom. By holding up on the d-pad and pressing R2 when its full enough, Silver will enter ESP Mode. The transformation is functionally a screen nuke and gives a ton of combo points when used right. ESP Mode will reduce action gauge consumption by 35%, will automatically stun any enemy Silver gets near and will deflect all projectiles. ESP Silver doesn't grant invincibility like Super Sonic or Uninhibited Shadow but it's much easier to use and has no downside to it. Sonic can't use gems with his form and Shadow's is hard to maintain while stunning him when it runs out. It's a really good thing Silver's new form is so useful here because...

This level is actually really difficult to S-Rank... XBLA Kingdom Valley is also quite difficult but you have access to one of the best combo playgrounds in the game as Sonic so its manageable. On top of this level just being worse for score, rings are basically useless. In the main game, they are worth 100 a pop on the result screen plus 10 for collecting them. In this level they only give 10 each upon finishing meaning then are only worth 20 points. I don't know why this is a thing but it really changes the strategy. You basically need to speedrun the stage getting as high of combos as possible while only picking up ring boxes. It's a good thing the S-Rank requirement was lowered to 40,000 because I think 50,000 might be straight up impossible with how short this stage is. I can only imagine trying to S-Rank this without using Silver's ESP screen nuke...
