This is a level I am sure people were anticipating to see in P-06. This stage is notoriously bad in the retail game for two major reasons, Amy and the ball puzzle...
Amy... My god what an improvement! She has this crazy flow to her gameplay that no other character has and it's a huge shame you barely use her. Her jump physics now work properly and her double jump is purely a double jump with no delay or loss in momentum. Her hammer can now be used while running and now even includes her Hammer Jump from SA1 if you hold the attack button. One major difference however is that this Hammer Jump gives you a ton of forward momentum instead of upward momentum. This means you can use it to quickly build up speed and jump over really far gaps effortlessly. She has basically the best jump in the game outside of exploits and Silver's hover. She also has her Spin Hammer, also from SA1, except this time it's actually useable. It basically functions like the Antigrav and Flame Tornado but with an insanely high damage output. Just be careful because it puts Amy into a really long cooldown animation if you use it for too long so just let go every enemy or two to refresh it. Lastly, her random invisibility is completely gone. Not like she needs it since she can one shot most grounded enemy in the game.
Next, there is the ball puzzle. It just works now, hard to really describe it. It doesn't look at that changed from watching footage but you can definitely feel a difference. One huge improvement is that you can use R2 to lock the ball in place and throwing it will send it straight in that direction. Another useful change is that the end hallway has much better guides. The old boxes and jars were basically junk but now the walls cannot be broken and are slanted to redirect the ball down the hall. Lastly, the final pit has a gravity effect that sucks the ball in. So, once you get it over the last jump, it's going in the hole eventually.
