Welcome back to my playtrough of Sonic Rivals 2,

Last time we started the story with everyone meeting up with their team mate (Sonic & Tails, Rouge & Knuckles, Shadow & Metal Sonic, Silver & Espio),
we also learned that Eggman NEGA is once again impersonating the real Dr. Eggman and is trying to awaken something called an Ifrit.

This time we continue our adventure into the second zone: Sunset Forest, here we join Knuckles who ran into Shadow and after accidentally telling the Ultimate Lifeform about "Eggman's" Emerald Detector that the Echidna is after Shadow races Knuckles to get the the radar from "Eggman" first.

After this we join back with Silver who is looking for chao, which alerts Sonic to Silver's presence and instead of telling the blue hedgehog that he's looking for chao the race to get to "Eggman".

After the race we join back with Shadow and Knuckles who are fighting to see who is conscious to get the radar after the fact.

We then join Sonic and Silver who after a fight broke out between the two hedgehogs, Silver challenges Sonic to a competition which will end up in more chao being saved by the two of them.

At the same time as the races between Sonic & Silver, and Knuckles & Shadow we join Rouge who ran into Metal Sonic which ends with the two of them racing to try to get through the forest and back with their respective partner.

We then join with Tails who gets startled by Espio appearing right in front of him, and after telling the chameleon that their looking for "Eggman" to see what the doctor has to do with the disappearing chao, but since Tails doesn't know much and isn't willing to share what little he does know with Espio he tries to escape which ends up with a race between fox and chameleon.

After the teams reconvene with each other they all run into "Eggman" at different times with the first being, Shadow and Metal Sonic who after being unable to confirm with Metal Sonic due to radio interference whether or not it is Eggman NEGA, and after Knuckles and Rouge show up to ask "Eggman" about his Emerald Detector which he does indeed have but isn't willing to give up so easily so this ends up with a race to see which of our teams can defeat the boss: the "Egg Crawler" ,first.

Later Silver, is asked by Espio about what the psychic hedgehog has to do with the disappearing chao, to which the time traveler says he had been collecting them in order to save the world from being ruined but before he can explain the two of them are interrupted by Eggman NEGA, as well as Sonic and Tails.
Tails brings up the page "Eggman" dropped of which he is surprised the genius fox even has, but before "Eggman" can take it back, Silver gets impatient and wants to take down "Eggman" to which "Eggman" goes out in his Egg Crawler to challenge them.


After the Egg Crawler is defeated and "Eggman" escapes once more, and now that Knuckles and Rouge have the Emerald Detector they start to use it to locate the Chaos Emeralds as well as the Master Emerald.

We then join back with Silver and Espio and the former starts to explain what gathering the Chao has to do with saving the world since whatever is going to happen is going to need the chao for something, and after agreeing to help the time traveler Espio notices that Rouge and Knuckles are close by and that their detector is picking up the signal of a Chaos Emerald but it seems to just be some chao, which Espio and Silver get to to investigate. (we see what comes of that next time)

After this we join up with Sonic and Tails who have picked up more of the pages from "Eggman's" book and from these they learn that: "The Ifrit held the power of destruction and the power to bind one's soul...", we might not know what this means yet but we are bound to find out if we don't stop "Eggman".

At the same time Shadow and Metal Sonic made it out of the forest and the radio signal is restored thus making sure that Eggman can once again communicate with the Ultimate Lifeform, but before Eggman can explain anything Sonic runs across them which the two of them don't have anytime for and run away into the casino, this does alert Sonic and Tails that Metal Sonic is loose again.

*the "Eggman" is to represent that this could be either Eggman or Eggman NEGA since the character we're getting the story from doesn't know NEGA is there or not.
