This is a playthrough of the Sonic the Hedgehog (P-06) PC demo, released in April 2019.

This is a fangame aiming to reproduce Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), originally released for Xbox 360 and PS3, on PC - with some extra tweaks and additions along the way. For a work-in-progress demo this is a really impressive release. I particularly like the enhanced colour grading this demo offers, as it makes the environments really pop compared to the less-saturated original release. The water in Wave Ocean looks especially nice too, overall it feels like a lot of love's gone into recreating the game's look.

There's also gameplay enhancements for the player's convenience, such as settings for different jump dash behaviour, and optional lock-on reticles for the homing attack. Tails and Silver's base movement speed's also been enhanced, which I'm grateful for as they were both painfully slow in the original game.

So far it seems the main quirks are some camera/movement oddities, and framerate issues in Kingdom Valley (though admittedly I may have been pushing my luck using the high settings, I wanted to show off the fancy new weather effects :P), though as this is a WIP I'm sure the devs will continue working on smoothing these out. It's still early days yet :D
