PSPlus Savings
PlayStation Plus subscribers are surprised by the middle tier of the subscription service and how much value it offers. For those that don't know, PS Plus is divided into three tiers. The bottom tier is called PS Plus Essential, and it's what PS Plus has been for many years, which is to say it grants a few "free games" every month, alongside access to online play and special features like cloud saves. Then there is PS Plus Extra, the middle tier of the subscription service, which is all of this as well as "free" access to a vast library of PS4 and PS5 games. The most expensive tier is PS Plus Premium, which is PS Plus Extra, but the instant library is bolstered by PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games as well. Unfortunately, the legacy part of this library is currently pretty disappointing, raising questions about the value of the most expensive tier. That said, there's little room to argue with the value of the middle tier.
Over on the PS5 Reddit page, one subscriber recently made a post diving into why the Extra tier "is so much more worth it" than they thought. And the post has been gaining some traction on the page, largely because everyone in the replies agrees.
Bundle:
A new PS5 bundle with two DualSense controllers has appeared online, complete with updated packaging. News of Sony releasing this bundle first emerged yesterday on a German website. We initially disregarded the report but later found listings for the PS5 “Two DualSense Wireless Controllers Bundle” on known retailers’ websites.

According to folks over at WinFuture.de, the new digital and disc PS5 bundles will launch towards the end of January 2023. Upon digging around a little, I found listings and images of the new packaging on EB Games Australia’s website as well as JB Hi-Fi’s website. For those not familiar with them, EB Games is a multinational video games retailer and JB Hi-Fi is one of Australia’s largest retailers for home entertainment products. The listings are still up at the time of this writing.

How likely are PS5 themes two years into the console’s life cycle?
Sony can be pretty unpredictable so while it may seem like we’re unlikely to see dynamic themes being introduced two years into the PS5’s life cycle, never say never.
Online forums and social media threads discussing PS5 features and wish lists for future additions are full of players demanding answers for the lack of themes.
“Allow themes or at the very least, custom backgrounds,” wrote one Reddit user in a popular thread over the weekend. “I miss my PS4 theme of a small creek bed,” wrote another. A third user recalled a relaxing cherry blossom theme with an actual day/night and seasonal cycle that allowed players to see the tree growing, blooming, and falling, depending on the time of the year. “No background of any game will bring me this peace back,” they wrote.
