Major Issue:
The much-anticipated Dead Space remake is suffering from more than a few bugs, including a significant graphics bug on PS5. EA has acknowledged the problem but it can’t say when it will be fixed.
The Dead Space remake brings with it a complete graphical overhaul of the sci-fi horror game, making it look like a modern game, instead of a 15-year-old bit of space junk. However, some PS5 players report an issue where textures are loading in at much lower resolutions than they’re meant to, creating an ugly visual mismatch between a highly detailed main character, and a low-fidelity environment.
“The team is working on a patch that will improve the issue on PS5,” EA community manager EAKfam said in a Reddit post(opens in new tab). “The patch will also provide an option to disable VRS on PC. No ETA quite yet, but I’ll keep you all updated.”
App Update:
Sony released a brand-new update for the PlayStation App on Android and iOS, which adds a new feature that PlayStation 5 users may use to personalize their app experience. Developed by PlayStation's mobile division, the PlayStation App allows users to access features from PS4 and PS5 consoles in a convenient mobile app.
The PlayStation App allows players to browse the PlayStation Store, read news from PlayStation, message and chat with friends, and access storage from a PlayStation 5 console in rest mode. Additionally, users may download games and DLC to their PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console while using the app. This past September, PlayStation App would receive one of its biggest updates with the introduction of the PlayStation Stars loyalty program. PlayStation Stars members may earn new rewards in the PlayStation App by completing challenges and purchasing games in the PlayStation Store. The app continues to be updated by PlayStation, and the latest update adds a new feature that PlayStation 5 players may enjoy.

Following a multi-year period where it was extremely difficult to find a PlayStation 5, Sony is now telling fans they should have a "much easier time" getting their hands on a console.
In a blog post, PlayStation executive Isabelle Tomatis thanked fans for their patience as Sony experienced "unprecedented demand" for the console at the same time that "global challenges" limited the availability of new PS5 systems worldwide.
"If you're looking to purchase a PS5 console, you should now have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally," Tomatis said.
None of this should come as a surprise, as Sony said at CES this month that the PS5 shortage was basically over. Despite the shortages, Sony has sold more than 30 million systems so far.
Sony said fans can visit the official PlayStation Store to buy a new PS5 or visit a local retailer, and stock should be more readily available. However, there are never any guarantees.
Sony also released a new PlayStation advertisement hyping up the wider PlayStation ecosystem. The video may contain teasers for the future of PlayStation, as fans spotted clues in the trailer that some believe could point to Uncharted 5.
