Praise the funds! FromSoftware's parent company Kadokawa Corporation has announced that it is selling a big chunk of shares to Sony Interactive Entertainment and Tencent subsidiary Sixjoy Hong Kong.

Once the shares have been issued, Sony will own 14.09% of FromSoftware, while Sixjoy will own 16.25%. Kadokawa will continue to own the remaining 69.66%.

Kadokawa allowed FromSoftware to arrange a ‘third-party allotment’ to Sixjoy and Sony, in order to gain extra funding to possibly publish its own games globally. FromSoft usually published their own games in Japan, but in other regions publishing is handled by others.
