Disassembled my fdrx3000 and recorded how the boss works. If you are familiar with how an optical stabilization system works then you should also be familiar with the BOSS. All it is is just a floating sensor in a housing, I didnt disassemble it any further but the BOSS is suspended by what looks to be thin flat metal springs. Its not an actual gimbal inside here but if its anything like sony mirrorless optical stabilization, it uses micro electromagnets to move the sensor around to offset the shakes. I wont know for sure until I completely disassemble it which I probably wont because I dont want to break it. Though, it looks like you can change the fixed focus by removing the glue off the black tabs right next to the white oring, You can probably change out the lens also but that would render the camera useless in wet conditions because it will not the water resistant anymore.
