Sour Gas #OrBust! Part 14: Successful Geotuning (ONI: Spaced Out!)
7This VOD is the 14th part of my rebooted long-term Sour Gas Boiling play-through for Oxygen Not Included! In this video, we get our Phosphorus refiner working! It seems like we need to send larger packets occasionally rather than small packets continuously to avoid boiling it in the tiles, but this is workable enough. We can now Geotune all of our Metal Volcanoes for twice as much metal and even more power! I break the tamers slightly by adding a bit too much Ice to add thermal mass but we manage to sort it out shortly after. Now we can export Phosphorus to our other asteroids for Geotuning as the refiner should be able to handle the needs of the entire starmap. We also uncover all of the Fossil POIs and complete the associated story trait, which we may use at some point if we get renewable Diamond production online. The next objectives are getting the Somnium Synthesiser working, getting Squeaky Pufts ranched for Bleach Stone and more food, and getting ready to set up a permanent Bionic Dupe colony on the Glowood Wasteland asteroid. The aim of this run is for me to execute my plans from my Water recycling videos ( • How To Recycle Water Forever in Oxygen Not... and • How To Recycle Water EVEN HARDER in Oxygen... ) and build a completely sustainable and well-organised colony with zero inputs. But first this means I'll need to explore our asteroid, set up a normal base first, and get some industry going. This is going to be a longer-than-usual run, and I'm hoping to explore the rest of the Spaced Out content that I never got around to here too. We may occasionally interrupt it with short challenges.
