Kicking off a new series, of course things are slow.
The recipes and intermediates are all normal - it's very specifically not marathon mode - but the inclusion of the Spaceblock mod somewhat obfuscates the very first steps of even obtaining ore. I'm unlikely to encounter the usual speedrunning multitasking concerns in this run. There'll be a lot of waiting, but also a lot of inky void where there's usually biters. It's a tradeoff.
The "40 stack challenge" element of this run is similar to what Cyclo is (was?) doing. The strict rules are: for every single item in Factorio, fill a chest (or train wagon) with 40 full stacks of that item. The informal rule is: install some mod, and don't spend time thinking about how much harder it makes the challenge. So, Spaceblock. At least it's not Seablock. I do at least get iron ore in the first episode.
I saw the first few minutes of DroCa doing Spaceblock. I quickly decided I'd rather run it than watch it, but you might be interested. I'll probably "catch up" with how DroCa does things after I've built them myself.
