If I can't easily sushi my ore, I at least want full output belts.

Spaceblock ore duplication mechanics lead to a couple of concerns about internal buffers, belt throughput, and insertion priority. Together these slightly wrinkling the task of completely filling a belt with ore. This video describes my favourite way to compress the gaps from this particular wrinkle, which might end up so simple as to be a barely distinguishable build.

Basically it comes down to not expecting a belt to transit more than it's maximum throughput. Which is pretty sensible when phrased like that.
