There's a weird "glitch" that happens in King's Quest 7 that can cause your character to walk extremely slow. This not only makes the game more tedious but can also cause other animation triggers to not activate as a result... one of those being right before the Final Boss. Luckily modern Steam & GOG ports let you toggle a "Speed Boost" to fix this.
