Want to boost your web browsing experience? Don't have an SSD? Running an old computer? don't worry we will set up a ramdisk.
RAMDisk is a program that takes a portion of your system memory and uses it as a disk drive. The more RAM your computer has, the larger the RAMDisk you can create.
1. First, download the software
http://memory.dataram.com/products-and-services/software/ramdisk
or
http://www.radeonramdisk.com/software_downloads.php
2. Install the software.
3. Configure software to required ramdisk space
4. Now setup what you want to use ramdisk for.
- Games
- Browser cache for faster web surfing
- Audio and Video editing
- and much more.
Chrome:
--disk-cache-dir="E:\ChromeCache"
Firefox:
1. Create a folder called FFCache in Ramdisk
2. Open Firefox browser, type about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter.
3. Right-click browser.cache.disk.parent_directory and click ok
4. Type Z:\FFCache click OK
5. Z:\ is the drive letter of your ramdisk, change to your letter.
6. Enjoy super fast speed
