Spelunky 2 - Pacifist Chain Low% Duat Clear!
3Today I will be beating Pacifist Chain Low% Duat! This took way longer than it should've because I got extremely unlucky while attempting it. In fact, I died literally 3 times in the ice caves to the fall being destroyed or having a yeti. It took at least 8 times past Osiris, but I have finally done it. Basic Explanation of the Run:
Pacifist = Cannot kill any enemies. "Pacifist" is determined by the game, not by the community. This means that if something is not a kill according to the game, then it is perfectly valid to do in the run. For example, the game does not consider killing critters a kill. Pacifist is verified by the journal entry upon death or victory. The line "I was a pacifist" must be shown.
Chain = Refers to the "chain" items. These items are the Crown/Hedjet, Ankh, Excalibur/Scepter, Tablet of Destiny, and Qilin. The Udjat Eye is not considered a chain item, but it is optional in Low%. The chain items must be collected for it to be a chain run. Chain is a modifier of Low%.
Low% = You can only use your starting items. (4 hearts, 4 ropes, and 4 bombs.) Expanding upon these resources or using any item listed in the journal is forbidden. Chain Low% follows the same restrictions as Low%, but it allows you to collect the necessary chain items. There are more specific Low% rules here: https://mossranking.com/cat.php?cat=214
Duat = Refers to the area you enter by sacrificing yourself with the Ankh in the City of Gold. For Duat runs, you must collect all the necessary chain item requirements and take the Duat route instead of the Abzu route. The Duat route differs from the Abzu route because you need to go through Temple, get the Scepter, go to the City of Gold, sacrifice yourself, and then kill Osiris. The Duat route is much more complicated when you do it pacifist. You will see in the video how I accomplish getting to Duat and past Osiris.
Sunken City = This is not specifically stated in the run, but it is implied with the "Duat" modifier. Sunken City refers to reaching the Sunken City and exiting on 7-4 after killing Hundun.
