Splatoon 2: Mistakes in the middle in Tower Control [13(4)-4, Kensa Sloshing Machine]
I still haven't quite worked out the range of the Sloshing Machine, hence my two indirect hits on the Bloblobber, but I at least panic them in to the water for an assist. I splat them cleanly on their return, although I am surprised my position beneath them went un threatened whilst I did it. I suppose that's what happens when you focus too much on the objective and not what's around you. I get a clean splat on the Hero Shot Replica, and a sloppier splat on the same inkling after they return, throwing a Fizzy Bomb their way after using my Splashdown for protection. I get around the Aerospray by dodging Tenta Missiles, and get a feeling of invincibility, just before the Clash Blaster rudely awakens me.
I take the long way back, expecting to be on the defensive, and we kinda are, just not for long. The battle is rather less focussed on the Tower for a bit, though, with the Clash Blaster trying to flank us, and once they're splatted all manner of Bomb Rushes are thrown towards the Tower, putting it out of bounds. Things seem to clear up, and I hop on to the Tower to push things forward, and leap off as I spy the Bloblobber ahead. It wasn't a great idea to leap straight forwards int to their blobbles, to be fair.
My squidmates keep the Tower moving as I return to the battle, keeping watch behind us for the moment. The Clash Blaster is moving around again, and I use a Fizzy Bomb to encourage their movement, and then dip through the grating for a textbook dunking. I thought I was closer to the edge, but nope. At least the Tower trundles onwards, and I head back to approach from the side, finding myself in a bit of a mess with a Curling Bomb Rush in progress. I manage to scrap two splats out of the circumstances, which is good, and keep the flank inked for a bit.
The Hero Shot Replica returns and succumbs to a Splashdown, and I bump in to the Aerospray again as I try to focus a little on the Tower. They're probably not going to send me a friend request. As the Tower double-backs on itself, I hit the flank, not really doing much but finding myself in a good position to hop on to the Tower when it stalls. We keep things moving little by little as Suction Bombs and inklings are thrown at us, and although I'm splatted off the Tower, I get to watch as one inkling rides the Tower to the goal, another desperately flopping behind it trying to climb on. Woomy!
