Splatoon 3: Separated from the Zuna in Salmon Run [37-46-36-xf, 42/1069]
My first miss on the Flyfish isn't so bad, not with an Explosher around, but getting hit by the Stinger is a bit embarrassing. I don't let a Scrapper get lured right up to the basket either, which is amateurish, but at least I deal with the Fish Finger quickly, and help with a Flipper by the basket. Another Flipper doesn't need my help, neither does the Lid. I lend a hand with a Steelhead and move towards a Flyfish, accidentally managing to splat one of its bins and a Drizzler with the Drizzler's missile, which is impressive. That almost makes up for missing the other Steelhead so dramatically. I get it on the second pass, and ignore the Big Shot, with time running out, to simply dunk another egg before the wave ends.
The second wave gives me the best weapon, which I try to convince my squidmate about. They have a point about inking Flipper's landing zones, though. A Big Shot appears, but a squidmate has splatted them, which is nice, while we have trouble with a Maws. That trouble passes, and we clear the bosses by the basket. I even let the Scrapper come right up to us. Two squidmates are down by the shore dealing with bosses there, firing the eggs back with the Big Shot's cannon, so we hang around the basket splatting what comes our way. It's a good system, helped by a squishing Lid, and we end up needing more time for all the eggs lying around.
On to the third wave, and I'm firmly on Flyfish duty with the Explosher. We argue about bucket efficiency for a bit more, and I splat some Cohocks, before bosses I can deal with turn up. Stingers will do. One on one shore, two on the other. A fourth I really have to travel for. Taking an egg back to the basket gets me stuck there, as there are eggs to dunk and a Maws wanting to nibble on me, while a Flyfish is in one direction and another Stinger in the other. But squidmates deal with long-range issues, so I concentrate on eggs. We seem to run out too. That makes it a decent run.
It's not over yet, a Zuna wandering on to shore. The early bosses give us eggs to throw, one of mine missing as the Zuna nimbly dodges. More bosses turn up as we run out of eggs, supplying us with more, but where is the Zuna? Thankfully being brought back our way! We slam egg after egg in to the chonky salmonid, and things are looking good. We even splat more bosses efficiently, leaving us with plenty of eggs to finish the job. Only the Zuna has been dragged away again. We try to encourage it be brought back to us, but the message isn't received. That's a shame, as we could have splatted it.
