Splatoon 3: Settling for silver in Salmon Run Big Run [48-40-44, 38/677]
2I've got a gold statue to win! The Sploosh-o-matic might help me, as will this squad. We're getting better at luring bosses back to the basket as a squad, which makes dunking eggs more efficient, although some still need to be approached. Like the Lid, or Fish Finger, which I probably waste a few seconds too much delivering the third egg. A couple of splattings slows us down too, but they are revived quickly. More bosses are splatted, the Chum are kept at bay, and we don't have any Flyfish or Stingers to worry about, which all contributes to a good starting wave.
Up to high tide for the second wave, with a Ballpoint Splatling. The clouds are turning grey too, so it's a special wave. A Mothership appears. That stymies our egg efficiency a little, but also makes things a little simpler. I try to use my range on the Chinooks, but we also have to get eggs in the basket. We don't have double-digits when the Mothership first visits, but we keep ourselves busy and splat Chinooks, dunking what we can, and build up to another decent total. It's not great, but keeps us on track for a good total.
Getting the bucket for the final wave is a good omen, even if it's a bit unlucky to fall off a ledge just as a Maws comes for me. It's not a problem, though, and I keep going, climbing a Fish Finger to retrieve all three eggs, this time probably okay, without more bosses around, dropping down to help with a Steel Eel curling around the basket. More Eels make the area a bit congested, a couple of Steelhead and their bombs not helping below the ledge, but a bit of manoeuvring gets clear. An Inkjet helps with one Steelhead, but I miss the opportunity on the seconds, and a Fish Finger left alone proves my undoing when a Steelhead bomb lands next to me. With not much time left, I leave the Fish Finger and go for eggs lying around, only for Cohocks to get in the way. Even so, it's a new record score for me, if not enough to get me above silver. Woomy!
