Splatoon 3: Warming up in Salmon Run [40-44-33, 28/786]
Gotta love it when the walls get inked early doors. And that Drizzler splat to start with was nice, if a shame that I miss seeing the other one nearby. Our Goober does well to bring the Scrapper back to the basket, and an early splatting is revived with a Splat Bomb. A Big Shot livens things up a bit, although maybe a bit less than the wandering Cohocks upset that I splatted who I presume is their uncle. Flippers near the basket cause problems with a Steel Eel wandering through, but nothing a Dolphin can't clear up rapidly, and even though I miss one Maws, and by a mile, the pair of them are splatted without issue. All that leaves plenty of eggs right by the basket, and we end the wave with a decent total.
Not much wall inking to do to start the second wave, but a little touch-up doesn't go amiss. A Flyfish is good to see early, as it is much easier to splat without distractions, and I drop down to help revive a squidmate and boop a Steel Eel from behind. I'm less subtle with the next one. I pause to splat a Steelhead before finding the Big Shot, and am happy a squidmate is dealing with the Stinger that was just about to splat me from across the Hydroplant. I dash across the Hydroplant for another Steel Eel, reviving a squidmate on the way, but ignoring the Stinger. That's not for a Roller to splat. A Lid comes down, but a different Steel Eel survives and traps me. I'm revived, help with a Scrapper and Steel Eel, and run out of ink. But I get more, and help with dunking some last-second eggs, not quite realising I'm carrying one.
On to the final wave, and I have the Splatana Wiper. I should know how to use this by now, but I don't really use it in battles yet. Maybe I could change that. I mostly throw Splat Bombs to start with, getting rid of Flyfish and Maws, before falling down when trying to splat a Drizzler. I get the charge working on a Cohock in the way, but get caught by a Chum when trying to bring down a Lid. I am revived, and wait far too long to splat a Steelhead that our Goober already has covered, letting Cohocks hit me. I recover, get the splat on a Flipper, and launch a B-bomb, if only because it's the third wave and we could use some clear turf. More Specials come out, which is encouraging, and we dunk enough last-second eggs to make it look like it wasn't that close after all. Woomy!
