So here's a little bonus peek at where the seams all come together when it comes to matchmaking in Splatoon... more specifically, it's what you get when you try to seek a match too close to when a regularly-scheduled stage rotation is about to happen. Namely, you'll start seeking, but a match can't really come together, because while you were doing so, the rug got pulled out from under you!

Actually, the fact that this can even happen as far as it gets here makes me wonder if a matter of good timing versus phenomenally bad timing... and maybe after a couple rotations, players just know not to seek a rematch immediately at such a moment. It does strongly remind me of the Global Testfire and what happens if you try joining up when the time has in fact expired, but the menu didn't catch it first to throw you out before starting to seek out opponents... only to time out and THEN kick you out because it did pass its spot check now that it's definitely past time.

Somewhat related, if you DO catch Callie and Marie's broadcast of the new stages, trying to join a friend's game too quickly might result in trying to join the remnants of their old session from before the switchover, resulting in an unceremonious and hasty dismissal back to the main lobby menu with an error of being unable to join up properly.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't want you to think that this is merely a flimsy stand-in for a proper video... but the appropriateness of the timing (and thankfully having things go super-smoothly for the FIRST stage rotation) just seemed too much to pass up for a little bit of an intermission.

But no, you certainly shouldn't think I'm pulling a fast one here... no, no, no... no!

... ... ...

(The rest of the description is curiously blank and its describer nowhere to be found.)
