Spore MODDED creation: Horseman/Centaur (DI, MM)
19It's time for another original creation! This time, it's my take on the concept of a centaur! After some time thinking how I can spice up this classic concept, I had the idea of fusing a humanoid torso to the "horse" head, with the arms being used as horns. I also add a sword piercing the creature's heart because why not? :3
I used the textureless DI bones here to emulate the ribbon-like mane of this creature, with multiple piston-shaped spine coming out of its back. Regular cyber DI parts are used to make the armors and the sword to contrast with the organic/wrinkling skin. The eyes gave me some trouble as I would like to convey a sort of manic look on this predator.
I had to experiment a lot with the skin paint to get this desired look. At first I tried the same skin paint as the Bloodstarved Beast but it didn't bring out as much of the musculature I desired. So next I moved to this skinpaint, but it got pixellated when applied on all the textureless parts so I had to increase the texture size, which makes the creations a bit more prone to crashing.
And while I couldn't fix torso bobbing during walking cycle, I think it really added to the natural look of the creature in the end as an elegant 6-legged beast.
