This was the follow up to the classic Spy Hunter. It took a more radical approach than the original top down driver with two new features. Spy Hunter 2 had a new two player split screen co-op ability and a new semi 3D driving view from behind the car. Spy Hunter 2 also had hills and valleys to drive up and down to help create the illusion a 3D environment. Unfortunately all of these features were not enough to exceed the expectations of the original game.
The cabinet was designed with a single 25-inch crt that was shared by both players. It fooled players into thinking that it was actually 2 separate TVs as it incorporated a vertical divider.
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 is the second collection of classic arcade games published by Midway for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. This compilation includes 20 games that were not in the 2003 release of Midway Arcade Treasures or the 2005 release of Midway Arcade Treasures 3.
The game plays similar on all three consoles; however, the Xbox version has the exclusive ability to upload scores to an online scoreboard. The special features on each version of the game are the same. These include game histories, developer interviews, and other documents.
