Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (Reignited Trilogy) - Part 10: Sgt. Byrd's Base
After Sheila the Kangaroo, your next rebel critter to release from one of MoneyBags' cages is military penguin called Byrd, James Byrd. Call him Sgt. Byrd for short. Unlike all other penguins, this one can fly!
His main method of attack is to use his shoulder-packed rocket launchers. He claimed that he had limited ammo on them as to why he didn't use them to break out of the cage, but he's lying! They're infinite ammo! He then uses some of that limited ammo to blast Moneybags away.
Sgt. Byrd thought that dragons like Spyro were dead for thousands of years, but Spyro filled him in on better details of that based on what Sheila told him.
James then headed back to his home to lead some French hummingbirds in an attack against the Rhynocs that have taken over his base in his absence.
----------
By the way, Byrd looks MUCH better in this game, now. He no longer has a dead fisheyed stare that we've known him for in the PS1 version. His eyes are more natural, now. He also has a card on his helmet, to let you know that he's the ace of his squadron. His rockets are also better at homing in on the enemy, though they now have a startup delay before they actually fly away.
The main Eggjective is to have Cpl. Gabrielle guide you through the base, all while blasting any Rhynocs in your way. You will also learn to drop weights on switches, and drop bombs on enemies as well.
Along the way to the Return Home portal, you also have to free some other pink hummingbirds trapped in cages. You can't blow up the cages, you have to approach them.
Finally, there's a Skill Point you can get from here by dropping bombs on the gophers scattered throughout the level. No other method will work, and getting too close to them will just have them hide in their holes.
----------
Back in Midday Gardens, in order to go further through the Forgotten Worlds, a flying contraption called The Whirlygig needs to engineering strength of five men- uhhhhhh.... I mean five brave souls to get it finished and ready for Spyro to use.
You can't talk to Sgt. Byrd for that line this time in Reignited Trilogy, if his level is the first one to be completed in Midday Gardens. Just complete another level to bring another character in, and then he'll say the (changed) line.
