This week, I will be trading Anorith through Surprise Trade, this Fossil Pokémon originated from Generation 3, and as usual, I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Adamant for the Nature, as the Anorith line have Attack as their highest stat.
Some of the Anorith that I am trading have Swift Swim, its Hidden Ability, and Anorith is one of few Pokémon that loses some Speed when it evolves, Anorith has base 75 Speed, while Armaldo has base 45 Speed, and Battle Armor is a good Ability to have, as this pairs well with Armaldo's base 100 Defense.
For Egg Moves, I went with Knock Off, Aqua Jet, Rapid Spin, and Curse, Anorith can get Water Pulse and Sand Attack for other Egg Moves, I will list which parents in the Water 3 Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Aqua Jet: Kabuto, Kabutops, Tirtouga, Carracosta, Clauncher, Clawitzer
Curse: G-Corsola, Tirtouga, Carracosta, Cursola
Knock Off: Corphish, Crawdaunt, Skorupi, Drapion
Rapid Spin: Tentacool, Tentacruel, Kabuto, Kabutops (Requires Chain Breeding)
Sand Attack: Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Wimpod, Golisopod
Water Pulse: Tentacool, Tentacruel, Clauncher, Clawitzer

As for Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Anorith does not learn Water Pulse through breeding, and for other moves, it learns Screech, Cross Poison, and Iron Defense, it learns Screech from Tentacool, Cross Poison from Skorupi, and Iron Defense from Shellder. Rapid Spin is a move learned through Chain Breeding, the Kabuto line learn it from the Squirtle line, and it can be passed down to Anorith and Tentacool.
Anorith's starting moves are Fury Attack and Harden, so having Knock Off and Aqua Jet work well early on, and for level up moves, it learns Water Gun, Smack Down, Metal Claw, Ancient Power, Bug Bite, Brine, Slash, Crush Claw, Rock Blast, Protect, and X-Scissor, it evolves into Armaldo at Level 40, and it learns X-Scissor at Level 48, while Anorith learns it at Level 44.
Next are TMs and TRs, and I will be going over what Armaldo can learn through them, it can learn Dig, Screech, Rock Slide, Sandstorm, Brick Break, Rock Tomb, Mud Shot, Shadow Claw, Cross Poison, Bulldoze, Bulldoze, Brutal Swing, and Stomping Tantrum, and for TRs, it can learn Swords Dance, Body Slam, Low Kick, Earthquake, Iron Tail, Superpower, Iron Defense, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Liquidation, and many other moves, and it learns Meteor Beam for its Tutor move. For moves Armaldo can learn in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, it can learn Aerial Ace, Water Pulse, Rock Polish, and Strength for possible moves, Armaldo cannot learn Liquidation, Superpower, Brutal Swing, and Stomping Tantrum in those games.
I couldn't find any viable sets for Armaldo in online battles, and it's one of my favourite Pokémon from Gen 3, and I don't want to call it a bad Pokémon or anything. While it has a base Attack of 125, which is quite high, but its Speed stat is really low, and that is kind of a drawback, and its type combo of Bug/Rock gives it a weakness to types like Rock, Steel, and Water.
For moves, it can learn X-Scissor and Rock Slide for its main moves, other Rock-type alternatives are Rock Blast and Stone Edge, and it does get some coverage options like Earthquake, Superpower, Liquidation, and a few other moves, and it can use Aqua Jet for priority. With Swift Swim, Armaldo can use Max Geyser from Liquidation while Dynamaxed to activate the rain, and that will allow it to make use of Swift Swim, and that's about all I can go over with it.
If ever Kleavor is in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Scyther is confirmed by the way, but it hasn't confirmed whether or not Kleavor can be obtained in those games, I'm sure that thing will outclass Armaldo, as Kleavor has higher Attack and Speed, while Armaldo has 5 points higher Defense than Kleavor.
As for the main game, Anorith evolves really late, and it learns Bug Bite at Level 20, while Smack Down is learned at Level 8, and you do get the TM for Rock Blast really early, which does give Anorith a good Rock-type move for the early game, I have used Rock Blast in online battles, not on Pokémon with Skill Link, but with some Rock-type Pokémon, and it can be really useful if you are lucky enough to get three hits or more. I guess the one thing good I can go over with Armaldo is that it is usable when going through the game, but in competitive battling, its low Speed is a drawback, and it is outclassed by better Pokémon, it's not bad or anything, it faces competition with other Bug-types like Scizor, or Rock-types like Tyranitar, not easy competing with them. Some of my favourite Pokémon were introduced in Generation 3, and Armaldo is one of my favourites from there, it's even my favourite Fossil Pokémon.
