Kappah is a hidden character in the game, and can be fought against providing that a certain condition is met in Arcade Mode. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== HOW TO UNLOCK KAPPAH =====
--- 1) Go into the Arcade mode character select screen. (do NOT use the shortcut one)
--- 2) Highlight Hayato, hold [SELECT], move to Gore, and input:
X O X O [] [] [] /\ /\ /\ X+O. This unlocks Bilstein.
--- 3) Highlight Bilstein, hold [SELECT], move to Hayato, and input:
O [] /\ [] X [] /\ [] O [] X+/\. This unlocks Kappah.
===== ABOUT KAPPAH =====
He is a turtle-like humanoid alien who comes from the Planet Kappa which is situated in the Cygnus Galaxy of the universe. In combat, his weapon is a Plama Kappadent, which is a basically a Monk's Spade.
Kappah and his race live by and for a military and war-like lifestyle on their home planet, and they despise peace and friendship. One of their most prominent pleasures in life is Japanese wine (sake).
As a military soldier, he has a bitter and belligerent nature and personality, which has led him to join forces with Edward Bilstein and the Fourth Empire, who in return would promise to defend Kappah's home planet from external threats.
===== GAMEPLAY =====
Despite the completely different aesthetics and voices, Kappah is basically a derivative of Gerelt with a number of differences and unique moves of his own. Two examples of these moves include a trigger combo and a lean-forward spinning spade move.
In this playthrough, as a bonus I have included a fight against CPU Super Bilstein at the end. You can see it starting around 18:11.
===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====
---- He, along with Blood, does not show his face in his portrait and banner images on the character select and versus screens. Kappah has an image of two cucumbers.
---- If you reach and beat CPU Super Bilstein with him, he does not have an ending.
---- In gameplay, his 1st costume has "1P" on the shell of his back, and his 2nd costume has "2P" on the shell.
---- Being a derivative/semi-clone of Gerelt, perhaps the clapping and bowing animations doesn't suit Kappah.
---- He and Rimgal are the only two characters who did not make a return in the sequel, Plasma Sword.
---- Star Gladiator is Capcom's first 3D fighting game to be developed by themselves.
---- He is based on a legendary Japanese creature known as a Kappa, which is a type of water spirit that usually inhabits various ponds and rivers throughout most of Japan.
===== ABOUT STAR GLADIATOR =====
The game is basically a futuristic weapons fighter, largely inspired by the Star Wars franchise. The fighting system and mechanics is very typical of a Capcom fighting game... it's a bit like a flexible Street Fighter with weapons and "dial-a-combos". The character roster is certainly diverse, with robots, mechs, monsters and creatures as well as humans.
