There's a new Halloween themed TFO in STO: "Cat's Tale"

I go slowly through it, taking my time to record all the voice acting and show, what it is all about. We might not have been the most efficient group, as some of us still learn the ropes of this new mission, as well as me dragging behind to get all the spoken voice lines recorded for the video, which kinda forced me to progress slowly.

As much as I like voice acting in video games, I think it should happen more outside of mission briefing texts, because the mission trigger timers don't wait for the full dialogue to be spoken, and people usually skip it to start as soon as the timer allows, otherwise people would still stand around listening when the action has already started. That said, I'm not in favor for more time-gating, but instead of another mission briefing delivery system that doesn't require the mission window to be open all the time.

I still enjoyed this mission though, it's fun and builds an exciting, nostalgic Halloween atmosphere (nostalgic due to the fact it's featuring entities from Star Trek TOS as well as common, classic Halloween motifs), and the mood is fitting for the spook season to begin.

It's a pleasant surprise we got a new Halloween themed TFO this year, instead of just the regular, small Halloween mission we got for years, with never changing rewards. I don't want to sound ungrateful, though. That mission was fun as well, but since it returns every year during Halloween and Friday the 13.th and offers nothing new, many people started to skip it in favor of doing anything else instead. So this TFO was a very welcome surprise. I'll hope we'll get to see elements of this TFO in future story missions. This would be awesome.
