A face off between Star Wars Battlefront I & II (Beta) - The first game's Fighter Squadron versus the second's Starfighter Assault.

I've combined two separate runs of Starfighter Assault here. In the first the Empire wins over the rebels very quickly (and I get the most kills, yay!). In the second, the Empire loses to the Rebels, but I actually felt I was playing better than in the game that makes up the start of the video (similarily to my Rebels comparison video, that run also had its start cut off due to the PS4's 15 minute video capture limit). I also got enough points to use Darth Maul's Scimitar for the first time. Unfortunately however, like with the Millennium Falcon, I didn't check on it's abilities before selecting it and just jumped straight into the game whilst trying to figure out what it could do on the go and it doesn't take long before I get blown up.

I just use one lot of Battlefront 1 footage from the first phase of a Battle Station game where, as the Empire, you're defending the Star Destroyers. I manageg to take out the Millennium Falcon whilst playing as a TIE Interceptor in it.

I love Fighter Squadron in BF1 and the first few times I played it It absolutely blew me away with how nice it looked (I remember being particularly impressed at the start of my first time on Sorosuub flying through the clouds and as you break through them all the TIE fighters are suddenly on you). So with the benchmark already high, I'm pleased to say that BF2 absolutely smashes it out of the park visually and manages to further improve on BF1's graphics. The player ships look huge and very nicely detailed and the environment in the one stage in the BF2 Beta looks the absolute tits. Gameplay-wise it's similar but quite different at the same time and I must admit I do miss the soft lock. I think the missile targeting is improved in BF2 though, although I haven't fully sussed out how to shake off a missile if some else has locked on to me.

I love playing as the TIE Bomber in BF2, I seem to do much better with it than the regular TIE fighter or the TIE Interceptor. It's offensive capabilities are top notch and it feels very sturdy and capable of taking quite a lot of damage and it's missile lock jammer is very handy. In the first Battlefront I always preferred playing as the TIE Interceptor than the regular TIE because I found the laser barrage to be a lot more useful than its torpedo.
