STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II Multiplayer Beta - Starfighter Fighter Assault (Slave 1)
4A bit more Battlefront II Starfighter Fighter mode. My first using Slave 1 - it might've been a good idea if I'd looked at what its abilities were before jumping right in to a multiplayer game with it.
I wasn't sure about the new Starfighter Assault mode at first, but it's definitely growing on me, just in the couple of games I've played. It plays very differently compared to the the original Battlefront's Fighter Squadron, which I was a big fan of. I miss the soft lock option and the missile lock evasion auto manoeuvres, but having said that I haven't found it too hard to take down enemy ships just aiming the old fashioned way so far. I think I prefer the re-generating health idea rather than the set health and health pick-ups in the first game. I really need to figure out what to do to try and shake off a missile once someone's got a lock on you though.
And goddamn, it sure is purdy. I think it looks quite a bit nicer than the the first game's Fighter Squadron (and I thought that looked amazing). I'm not sure if it's just because the player's ship is bigger on screen or because the environment seems a bit more interactive, with all the capital ships you can weave in and out of (and through!) or what, but it just seems to have a bit more visual flare.
