First DOOM map I ever completed and subsequently submitted to the Doomworld /idgames database. The version you are seeing in this video is slightly updated to include the green armor and minigun in the areas connected to the red door.

STARBASE.WAD was built using DoomBuilder with the ZDoom (Doom in Doom Format) configuration. The video you are seeing was recorded in Skulltag.

The functions seen in the video are:

0:11 - S1 Raise Stairs by 8

0:14 - S1 Floor Lower to Lowest Adjacent Floor
- Off to the left is a room that will be teleported to later. The monsters in that room can see me and start moving about.

0:18 - SR Lift Lower Wait Raise

0:25 - DR Door Open Wait Close (also monsters)

0:29 - SR Lift Lower Wait Raise

0:31 - S1 Floor Lower to Lowest Adjacent Floor
- This causes the entire starting room to lower which opens up the rest of the level.

0:32 - DR Door Open Wait Close (also monsters)
- It doesn't work from the other direction though.

0:34 - WR Lift Lower Wait Raise

0:40 - W1 Floor Lower to Lowest Adjacent Floor
- It's impossible to spot but when I pick up the first zombie's clip I've walked over the line.

0:42 - WR Teleport
- This function was activated by a Former Sergeant, who was initially in the room I mentioned earlier that we would teleport to.

0:44 - WR Teleport

0:51 - W1 Floor Lower to Lowest Adjacent Floor
- In order to collect the red keycard, you have to step onto the platform it's on, which causes a room to open up in the main area.

1:05 - DR Door (Red) Open Wait Close

1:18 - W1 Floor Lower to Lowest Adjacent Floor
- Like the red keycard, it's in a sector that when entered makes something happened, however unlike the red keycard, the sector isn't raised and textured differently.

1:25 - WR Teleport
- Every teleport destination has a tag associated with it. You can make a bunch of different teleporters link to the same destination.

1:34 - D1 Door (Yellow) Open Stay

1:43 - S1 Exit Level

S stands for Switch, W stands for Walk Over, and D stands for Door.
1 means you can only activate the object once, and R means you can activate the object repeatedly.
