StarCraft 2: The Lurker Transition in Zerg vs Zerg! (LotV)
482The Zerg versus Zerg meta in StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void is all about the transition to Lurkers. Getting Lurkers out basically means you have a massive advantage on the ground until your opponent gets his or her own Lurkers out or transitions towards Mutalisks.
The Lurker forces the match-up to be a lot more dynamic because the risk of teching up to Lurkers seems to be worth it almost every time, even when you're behind. Getting a couple of Lurkers out with some Spine Crawlers allow you to play defensive and crawl back into a game.
In this video I discuss the transition from Roaches to Lurkers in Zerg versus Zerg and how to approach the scenario. Obviously this is mostly relevant at the higher level of play as in the lower leagues all strategies are less timing focused.
