StarCraft: Brood War Zerg Campaign Speedrun in 1:26:14
21This is one heck of an attempt that's really a look into what's possible in this run. With a time of 1h 23m 14s IGT, this run has 20 seconds or less to save on 8 of the 10 missions, which I consider to be excellent. IGT sum of best is 1h 20m 20s right now.
On Fury of the Swarm, Thadortin found a way to block the bridge with zerglings. They are move commanded at each other so they don't attack the enemies. This saves a huge amount of time because we get 4 hatches of production at the start instead of 2 - we're able to macro up and attack much sooner. The attack is harder due to [AI reasons] so we get +1 carapace to compensate. Additionally, Shox told me about dropping on a large building to increase the drop efficiency, which has been incredible as well. Both of these combined have pushed practice runs below 8 minutes on Fury of the Swarm, an improvement of over 90 seconds from the previous best.
