Stardew Valley 200 :: Chopping Stray Trees
It is yet another rainy spring day! The Junimos seem to be slacking off so we harvest our strawberries ourselves and clear away some wild trees on the right side of the farm. We craft more bee houses for our island farm, but we are running low on coal! At night, we plant two mango trees as well!
Today we have great luck! Leah gives us some dialogue that implies she brought in a new furniture item, so we look around the farmhouse but do not spot anything out of the ordinary. We add more bait to the crab pots and brew more pale ale in the kegs!
The bee houses have finished processing and we collect a jar of wild honey from each of them. Then, we visit our animals for the day! It has been a few days since they could roam freely outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Luckily for them, tomorrow they would be able to do so again!
We start to harvest all the ripe strawberries that are hanging off the bushes! We also chop down the maple, oak and pine trees that are growing wild. Since we already have some nicely maintained groves of these trees, we want to create more space for the mushroom trees and mahogany trees to spread!
In the afternoon, we pick up some radioactive bars from the furnaces! We place a tapper on the maple tree in front of the farmhouse before going to Pelican Town on horseback. At Pierre's store, we buy some seeds in advance, since the store will be closed for the egg festival tomorrow!
While rummaging through the trash can of the Stardrop Saloon, Abigail spots us! We gift her a mug of coffee to maintain our mutual friendship. We buy some pumpkin soup in the saloon before returning to the farm, where we pick up some coal, iron bars, maple syrup and wood!
These are the exact items we need to craft bee houses! We run low on wood and coal after crafting just a couple of them, however. We decide to craft 30 houses before going to Ginger Island with a bunch of paths! We also take some wood and stone to craft new paths.
We find Shane drinking at the beach resort again! He should really kick the habit for the sake of his family and his mental health. We harvest fairy rose honey on the island farm, and add in our new bee houses around an indigo-coloured fairy rose! This will prevent us from unintentionally harvesting the flower.
For the placement of the other bee houses, we reference the older bee houses and try to arrange the new ones in a similar way. When we have ran out of bee houses, we chop down some palm trees for more wood! If only we were doing Robin's Resource Rush, we would have so much progress today!
Back at Stardew Valley, we store away our items from Ginger Island in our chests. Then, we decide to plant the mango saplings from Ginger Island on our Stardew Valley farm! These trees would not only provide some shade from the hot sun, but also produce fresh, juicy fruits in the summer!
We wander around the farm, looking for free space to plant the saplings. Near the central path of the farm, we find two ideal spots to do so! The spot to the north requires more free space, so we move some path tiles to the side temporarily! There are no problems with the other spot beside the farm pond, though.
For the rest of the time we have left, we go to the mines! We find three nodes of radioactive ore on floor 56, probably due to our daily luck! We are not looking for ore though, but rather for dust sprites which drop coal. We also encounter an aggressive stick insect, I think for the first time ever!
