Stardew Valley Dwarf Challenge - Combat and Mining Only! (Challenge Playthrough)
A combat/mining focused playthrough, with restrictions imposed on money, farming, fishing, food and friendship. See the full list of rules below:
ECONOMY:
Can only sell gems, minerals, artifacts, weapons & monster drops.
FARM:
Must use Wilderness or Hilltop farm. Must enable monsters spawning on Farm.
MINING:
Fully allowed. All items acquired while mining can be sold/gifted/consumed. Things found in the mine/caves are given special privilege (i.e. Cave carrot could be consumed though it would be disallowed as a raw food)
FARMING:
No Farming at all if you go the Joja route.
If you want to do the Community center, you are allowed a garden (no more than 25 crop tiles). Crops can only be used for the community center, no eating, selling, gifting.
COOKING/FOOD:
Fish/Produce/Forage can be eaten if cooked or crafted. More than 2 or more different ingredients are required to qualify as cooked/crafted. Exceptions would be "mine" foods such as Cave Carrot, winter root.
FISHING:
Cave fishing is allowed. Above ground, you can only fish as a hobby. Allowed to catch no more than 5 fish per day above ground. Fish cannot be sold, eaten raw, or gifted. Fish caught underground can be sold, gifted or cooked.
LUMBER:
Trees outside the farm cannot be chopped down but can be shaken. Stumps and branches can be chopped outside the farm.
ANIMALS:
Animals are allowed, but only 1 of each type of animal. Products cannot be sold or gifted.
GIFTING:
Can gift gems, minerals, artifacts and monster loot. Specifically requested items can be gifted regardless of type (i.e. favors, quests, bulletin board).
COMBAT:
No more than 5 healing potions/foods can be used per day. If you are at full health, additional foods can be consumed for energy. Spa can be used for energy. This is to reward precise combat and avoiding damage, as well as use of better foods.
Exceptions:
Trashing: Disqualified items can be trashed and money acquired via upgrading the trash can.
Specific and Urgent Need: You may break certain rules if there is a specific request for an item, or a Job board quest.
Examples:
- A villager specifically requests any item, you may provide it to them.
- You receive a fishing based quests for a specific fish, you can fish more than 5 per day.
Counter Examples:
- It's a villagers birthday and you know they like parsnips. This would not be valid rule break to farm parsnips. There are other things they might like that fit inside the above rules.
- You want to complete a bundle quickly and it isn't a High Quality bundle. You cannot break the rules, you must find alternative methods of acquiring the crop such as the Traveling Cart.
