The annual Game Awards nominations opened up and while Starfield was nominated for Best RPG game of 2023, Starfield WAS NOT nominated for Game of The Year which surprised many fans of Bethesda.
Starfield released to controversy online as many critics argued that Bethesda had released a half baked game that would need a lot of updates, DLC and mods to make it better. Fans of Starfield argue differently and this resulted in a lot of controversy over the game awards as many said Starfield deserved to be nominated for game of the year.
