Starfield is a huge game, and after three hours I barely feel like I've gotten started. That's not a bad thing, it's part of the experience, but as a consequence it is hard to give any firm evaluations of how the gameplay feels beyond some cagey first impressions! This video describes how the space ship gameplay and combat feels in the first few hours. Starfield deploys a an elegant concept that requires manually transferring power to various systems (guns, lasers, missiles, engines, shields, grav jump) in order to use them, and you can power them up and down by degrees depending on what your gameplay needs are at any particular moment. I'm a fan of how this works! It's not complicated, but it makes you feel like you're pressing buttons and pulling levers like a pilot in the movies.
