In this Starfield beginners guide video I show you what to do when you become too heavy, or over-encumbered, and can't fast-travel or move without using too much oxygen and damaging your health with CO2 build-up.
Obviously you can just drop or jettison the excess loot, but if you want to keep it, you can transfer some to your NPC Companion, move it to your ships cargo, or even use storage at your various outposts to hold loot & items.
